Cartonaut crossed paths with this 6×6 custom build Land Rover Defender as they “circumnavigate”. The Johnson’s outfitted it to live full time on the road. A video walk through https://youtu.be/DWS8syQLpMg. Important detail: New Zealand is represented. Arnaud: I am a bit biased as I am a Land Rover fan (the […]

6×6 Landy

Craig sent us this weird and wonderful Map in the Wild. He said “Here’s a wild map, found at the South Shields landing of the Tyne Ferry. The wild map is a map of South Shields on what appears to be called Snowdog. More info here, but in short a […]

South Shields Snowdog

Reinder sent this from his Greek travels. What a cracker! I love this, I wonder if it is inspired by the Day of the Dead celebrations in Mexico? It looks like Reinder worked his way through the menu, my choice (in case you are interested) is Caliente Paloma please

Agavita, my kind of bar

Marc-Tobias spotted these at an Afghani restaurant in Hannover. He said “Wikipedia says “The term carpet is often used in a similar context tothe term rug, but rugs are typically considered to be smaller than a room and not attached to the floor”. You can decide which is a rug […]

Afghan carpets, or are they rugs?

Another one from Reinder’s Greek adventure. The tablecloth of this restaurant on the island of Aegina has a map of the island.

What’s on the Menu in Aegina?

Reinder has been vacationing in Greece and spotted this sign for the Sydney Hotel in Kastrakis

The Sydney Hotel

Reinder saw this “… at a Starbucks branch, near the railway station in Amersfoort. Until I looked at this it had not occurred to me that all f the world’s coffee was grown in this ‘belt” around the globe

The Coffee Belt

Faye Chant sent us this, she said “I spotted this amazing backlit map of Ukraine in a Ukrainian cafe in London while queuing for a sandwich next door! Must go back to sample the local delights.”

Ukraine in Pink

Reinder again! Who else in Den Haag? “Whilst working on the construction of the central railway station in The Hague (the Netherlands), the situation is shielded and ‘explained’ by means of Cartographically designed screens. Not The Hague is depicted though, but Leiden and Rotterdam. “
