There was a small photographic exhibition at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art entitled Anti-Mapping. The artists used massive aerial images printed on the walls to create a stunning effect.

The texture and detail of the imagery makes you forget that these are pictorial maps and start to see them as abstract art.

I’m not convinced that this work really is “alternative mapping” but we both thought this was one of the best things on display that day.
