My friend Elizabeth spotted this at the Department of Coffee and Social Affairs in Carnaby Street. A little Norf Sarf geo-pedantry, particularly for a small group of my geeky friends. Most Londoners consider the Norf Sarf boundary to be the Thames. Teddington is in the London Borough of Richmond on […]

Today is the start of Advent. Katie Cruickshanks sent me these pics of a Mapvent Calendar. I love these – made a mapvent calendar from similar fabric for my daughter this year with geography questions to get the chocolate

We went to the Cabinet War Rooms yesterday (aka Churchill War Rooms) for a guided tour with our friend Mark who is a Blue Badge Guide. For those who didn’t know, Churchill loved a map and there are maps on the walls throughout the bunker, the Map Room is the […]

David Henderson responded to our post of Madagascan Chocolate with this chocolate from Glenshiels. Each piece is shaped like a mountain (pyramid actually) and there is a lovely map of the Glenshiels area inside the packaging. Note the reverse inset map that shows the whole of GB!

Ken Field loves a bit of maptat, maybe even more than Angharad Stone. Here are his latest pair of mappy shoes, they even have a mappy sole. I was going to offer a prize to the first person who worked out where the map is based but there is a […]

Jabbed at Belsize Park and Baker Street

Ken Field shared pics of his two vaccinations, both on the arm with a London Underground map tattoo.
