A beautiful plate with a map of Amsterdam sent by our good friend Reinder Storm “A plate that I saw in the window of a kind of posh giftshop, at the Haarlemmerdijk in Amsterdam. What I liked is that they pointed out the place where you are standing, in front of […]
There are many gateways onto the Ashdown Forest, this map shows routes into the forest from The Gallipot Inn. From here paths lead to Pooh Bridge where you can explore trails that lead up through wooded heathland to Gills Lap and take in the amazing views looking north across Sussex, […]
Reinder Storm spotted this sign for bicycle parking. “In the Hofkwartier you are kindly requested not to park your bike on the sidewalks. Around the corner, you can put it in the bicycle storage for free. Where you can find these is indicated on a (kind of) map”
Another good spot form our friend de Grommende Trucker, this time near La Chapelle-de-Guinchay, France. I guess this must be a motorway service station, always a good source of maps. Compasses marked on the floor are so useful (really?)
Mayra Zubaran sent us these amazing globes which were part of the 100 Globes to Save the Planet exhibition. Go Milan! Maybe we should start an annual award for Mappery’s City of Maps? Milan would certainly be a candidate for the 2021 prize.
Elizabeth spotted this poster on wall at East Finchley Methodist Church. Nice sentiment “Think of no one as ‘them’”
Reinder Storm spotted this painting for sale “Irresistable painting for sale … Is this what is meant by #catlas …?”
Steve Chilton spotted this fabulous pair of contoured barn doors on the side of a farm building near Fionnphort on the Isle of Mull
Ken could not resist this Californian Cabernet, I don’t know whether not was the taste or the contour label.
Elizabeth spotted this map of the wines of the Auxerre region in the cafe at Highgate Woods near to where I live (not your average park cafe)
