Spotted at the launch of Ken’s book at Stanfords. David Overton, the founder of SplashMaps, loves a bit of Mappy clothing as much as Ken does. This is a great waistcoat with an OS 1:50k map on the back. Look at the buttons
It seems that it it isn’t just Mappery followers who love the combination of beer and maps. This Topographical IPA came from Chris Thiry via Reinder Storm. Chris is Map & GIS Librarian at Colorado School of Mines, apparently there is a mailing list of map curators and librarians who […]
Marc-Tobias spotted these runners insoles. “Saw in a sports store last week. Apparently their hiking insoles have elevation maps, toohttps://currex.us/products/runprohttps://currex.us/products/hikepro Same prints on all colours and right foot map overlaps with leftfoot map.“
Sergio Acosta y Lara sent us this pic of the Plaza Ecuador in Montevideo. “At the intersection of Av San Marino, City of Paris, Palmas and Ombúes, Lucerne and Brenda streets is Plaza Ecuador (formerly called Plaza San Marino). The peculiarity of this square is that seen from the sky […]
Richard Martin sent me this. Yes it is another Truck with a map but I think it is a nice one. “On a recent road trip I spotted this lorry and got the other half to take a snap. I thought it was quite a cool way of displaying the […]
You’ll never see so many current maps on place as at Stanfords. I like it that the Israeli and Palestine maps are sitting next to each other, not sure if it is a political statement or dyslexia.
Maps and beer I get, maps and wine I get, maps on trucks I get, but maps on cows?! Marc-Tobias sent us this beauty. “The map-cow is not in the wild really. It’s inside a map store in Hamburg city. The map on the cow also displays Hamburg.” I guess […]
Tom Harrison sent us this. “I spotted this on a car parked near Llanberis. Apparently it was bought second hand from an estate agent. The new owner removed all the company livery but kept the map of their local area.” Good spot Tom and respect to the owner
