Mappery For the love of maps

Maps as a Canvas

Today I have a bumper post for you.

Jill colchester is a friend of a friend. She shared these with me.

“I was given a bunch of oldish maps so wondered how to use them. And not wanting to waste the paper began drawing and painting on them for an hour every Monday morning with www.drawingisfree where artists sit still for each other for the duration of one track of music, (about 3 -5 mins long).  “

Pretty amazing eh? I am going to have to ask if I can sit for one of these portraits! You can see Jill’s work on her Instagram at JillColchesterStudio

This one is called The Old Man of Conniston.

And here are some more works by Jill.
